Hours: 8:15am – 4:15pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Pay: £100–£105 per day (PAYE) / £115–£120 per day (Umbrella)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive mainstream primary school in Barnet.

This role is based within a specialist SEND classroom that supports a small group of up to 8 pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 who are not yet ready to access learning in a mainstream classroom. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping these children develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive both socially and academically.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within an early years or KS1 setting.
• A strong understanding of de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, working effectively alongside the class teacher and wider SEND team.
