Foundation Studies Lecturer (Part-Time, 2 Days per Week)

Location: Uxbridge (with potential to work at Barra Hall, Hayes)
Salary: £11,079 – £15,460 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Part-time (2 days per week), Fixed Term until July 2026
Closing Date: 2nd November 2025

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Foundation Studies Lecturer to teach across a range of Foundation programmes on a part-time, fixed-term basis (2 days / 14.4 hours per week).

This role will primarily focus on Access to Further Education (FE) programmes, supporting learners to develop confidence, independence, and essential employability skills. You will play a key part in preparing students for progression into employment, apprenticeships, or further study, while contributing to the development and delivery of engaging and inclusive learning experiences.

About You

You will hold a degree in a relevant subject area, or a minimum Level 3 qualification with substantial teaching experience in Foundation Learning. Experience of delivering Functional Skills and supporting learners with diverse educational needs is essential, as is a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practice.

A Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent recognised in the FE sector) would be advantageous. We are looking for an inspiring educator who is passionate about supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across Foundation and Access to FE programmes.
  • Support learners in developing independence, confidence, and employability skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective support for individual learners.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and achievement.
