Technician – Hair and Beauty

We are looking for a temporary Technician in Hair and Beauty to start as soon as possible. 

Hours will be Monday - Thursday 8.30-17.00 and Friday 8.30-16.30.

Rate of pay around £12.50 per hour for the candidate.

Duties: 

  • To support teaching staff in the Hair, Beauty & Media Make-up Department
  • To support learners in the Hair, Beauty & Media Make-up Department
  • Raise orders in line with CRC policy using key systems.
  • Prepare for class by ensuring the salons are clean & tidy maintain the hygiene standards expected by the industry and all towels/laundry are clean and ready for sessions
  • Set up products & equipment for practical sessions and demonstrations from Lecturers requests
  • Assist lecturing staff and students during practical sessions and demonstrations.
  • Assist with commercial procedures inc. Answering the telephone, booking clients appointments, directing clients on arrival, supporting students to learn reception skills, carry out skin/patch testing, maintaining client records (in line with current GDPR legislation), taking payments, cashing up and financial reporting in line with the College’s financial regulations.
  • Cover lessons and assess students within the department where required.
  • Carry out stock control procedures
  • Keep stock levels up to requirements
  • Dispense stock & equipment to students
  • Maintain stock and equipment
  • Maintain related props & costumes
  • Maintain and update technical information and data safety sheets and COSHH records
  • Distribute student’s kits, salon wear and equipment etc. for each course.
  • Liaises with suppliers and Companies and representing CRC, inc. Placing orders, goods receipting & responding to invoice queries using Blueqube or equivalent software, in line with college procedures.
