Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:30am–4:30pm
Contract: Temporary
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: £30+ per hour (depending on experience & qualifications)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Lecturer in Carpentry to join a respected Further Education college based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled trades professional or qualified lecturer to share their expertise and support learners to develop valuable practical and theoretical carpentry skills.

You’ll deliver engaging and high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of carpentry courses, helping students to achieve their qualifications and progress in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver carpentry theory and practical sessions to FE learners.
• Plan and prepare lessons and learning materials in line with the college’s curriculum.
• Support and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement.
• Contribute to creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

About You

You’ll be a motivated and skilled professional who is passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of carpenters.

Essential criteria:

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Carpentry or Joinery.
• Teaching experience in an FE or training setting.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Available to start immediately.

Desirable:

• Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
• Level 3 or above qualification in Carpentry.
