We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer in English to join our college in Cambridge on a temporary, full-time basis. This is an immediate start role, covering ongoing staff absence.

The Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to learners enrolled on a range of creative courses. Students will be working at varied levels, from Entry Level through to Level 2, requiring a flexible and supportive teaching approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons that support learners of differing abilities and confidence levels.
  • Teach English in a way that links to learners’ creative courses, enhancing both subject knowledge and practical application.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide constructive feedback to help learners progress.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages achievement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior teaching experience in GCSE and Functional Skills English is essential.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to suit learners with different levels of ability.
  • Full compliance documentation in place and availability to start immediately.
