SEMH TA – Year 4 (- North London - Part-Time – ASAP start

Clarus Education is supporting a primary school in the North London borough of Camden in their search for a caring and experienced part-time SEMH TA to support a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs, alongside additional cognitive challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

The Role – SEMH TA

You will work one-to-one with a Year 4 pupil whose SEMH needs stem from early childhood trauma. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing consistent, structured, and supportive guidance to help the child access learning
  • Implementing strategies to support social, emotional, and mental health development
  • Maintaining clear boundaries while fostering trust, warmth, and positive engagement
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to monitor progress and adapt support as needed

The Ideal Candidate – SEMH TA

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs or similar complex needs
  • Is mature, professional, and confident in setting boundaries
  • Displays natural warmth and a genuine interest in the child’s wellbeing and development
  • Can respond calmly and thoughtfully to challenging behaviours
  • Is flexible and well-suited to a part-time role, such as someone studying or balancing another part-time position

Additional Information

  • Part-time hours, 08:45am – 12pm
  • No formal diagnosis for the child, though ADHD and/or autism are suspected
  • Enhanced DBS clearance required
  • Based in Camden, with the right to work in the UK essential
