About the role – SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time, long-term position starting in September
  • Working closely with students in KS3 & KS4 who have Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties
  • Supporting learning across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) as well as wider curriculum areas
  • Adapting resources and learning activities to suit individual needs and learning styles
  • Delivering targeted interventions to help with literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development
  • Collaborating with the SENCo, class teachers, and external professionals to track progress and set achievable goals
  • £95–£120 per day, weekly pay, term-time only
  • Based in Tower Hamlets, East London

Who we’re looking for – SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a secondary setting is highly desirable
  • Confident supporting students aged 11–16 with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
  • Strong communication skills, able to build positive relationships with young people and staff
  • Proactive, adaptable, and resilient – with effective behaviour management strategies
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers and achieve their potential
  • Ideal for aspiring teachers, youth workers, counsellors, or educational psychologists
