SEN Teaching Assistant – Camden – Part-time

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Part-Time, Mornings Only)
Location: Camden
Start Date: ASAP (Immediate trials available)
Hours: 8:45am – 12:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Pay: £13.87 – £14.77 per hour via PAYE (£40–£45 per day for 3 paid hours) + 15-minute unpaid break

About the Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Camden on a part-time, mornings-only basis. This role involves supporting a pupil in Year 4 (KS2) with SEMH & SEN, to access learning, build positive relationships, and develop key skills for the classroom.

The successful candidate will bring confidence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to set clear and consistent boundaries. You’ll be someone who can engage pupils through positive communication and a supportive, structured approach.

Key Responsibilities - SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Provide support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, helping them to engage with learning activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and implement consistent boundaries to create a safe learning environment.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to adapt resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Be proactive, resilient, and nurturing in your approach to supporting children.

Requirements

  • DBS on the update service (essential).
  • Previous experience supporting SEN pupils in a classroom (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining eye contact and building trust.
  • Ability to manage behaviours positively and confidently.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude.
