The Role – Civil Engineering Trainer and Assessor

As a Civil Engineering Trainer, Assessor, and Mentor, you will:

  • Train and assess Civil Engineering and Construction Apprentices across Levels 2–4.
  • Manage a caseload of learners, supporting them from enrolment through to End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Deliver high-quality training sessions (classroom and workplace) tailored to industry standards.
  • Guide apprentices in building portfolios of evidence, conducting reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Work closely with employers to ensure training reflects real workplace practice.
  • Keep accurate records in line with awarding body and apprenticeship funding requirements.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, and inclusion throughout the learning journey.

Requirement: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

What We’re Looking For – Civil Engineering Trainer and Assessor

Essential:

  • Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3) and proven industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for training and supporting learners.

Desirable (training provided if not held):

  • Level 3 TAQA / Assessor Award (A1, D32/33).
  • Level 3 IQA qualification.
  • Experience as a Civil Engineering Lecturer, Engineering Teacher, or Apprenticeship Assessor.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements.
