Primary Years Programme Coordinator – Karachi, Pakistan

Salary: £35,672 – £44,590 (Tax-Free) + Accommodation

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced PYP Coordinator to join a leading international school in Karachi. This is a senior academic role for a passionate educator who is ready to guide the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and ensure the highest standards of IB education.

What is a Primary Years Programme Coordinator?

The PYP Coordinator is the driving force behind the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (ages 3–12). This role combines curriculum leadership, teacher development, and community engagement. Acting as both a leader and a mentor, the PYP Coordinator ensures that the school’s philosophy of inquiry-based, student-centered learning is fully embedded across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities - Primary Years Programme Coordinator

  • Provide instructional leadership in line with IB PYP philosophy and school values.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PYP curriculum.
  • Mentor and support teachers, delivering ongoing professional development.
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning.
  • Act as a liaison between the IB, the school, and the wider parent community.
  • Ensure compliance with IB standards, safeguarding policies, and student wellbeing measures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align the PYP with whole-school strategic goals.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the PYP section, including staffing, admissions, and student progress.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field.
  • IB-certified PYP training with proven leadership experience in an IB school.
  • At least 7–10 years’ experience in education, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in curriculum design, inquiry-based pedagogy, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust across staff, students, and families.
