About the Role - Electrical Installation Trainer & Assessor 

As an Electrical Installation Trainer / Assessor, you will take responsibility for managing a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through their training programmes and preparing them for successful End Point Assessment. You will be at the heart of their journey—helping them progress from learners into skilled professionals ready to thrive in the workplace.

Your role will involve a balance of workshop delivery, workplace visits, and remote administrative tasks. This flexible, agile approach offers variety day to day.

Key Responsibilities - Electrical Installation Trainer & Assessor 

  • Deliver high-quality training and one-to-one support to apprentices in Electrical Installation
  • Conduct workplace assessments, reviews, and observations to monitor learner performance
  • Plan, record and track apprentice progress against Apprenticeship Standards
  • Prepare learners effectively for their End Point Assessments (EPA)
  • Develop strong working relationships with employers and apprentices, acting as a trusted mentor
  • Support business development by promoting apprenticeship opportunities with industry partners
  • Ensure all training, documentation, and compliance records are completed to a high standard
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices, curriculum changes, and Health & Safety requirements

What We’re Looking For - Electrical Installation Trainer & Assessor 

The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a passion for developing others. You will need:

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Domestic and Commercial Electrical Installation
  • Substantial, relevant industry experience in the electrical sector
  • An Assessor and/or IQA qualification (desirable, but not essential)
  • Experience in teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
  • Strong knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT literacy and the ability to use digital platforms for record-keeping and learning support
  • A flexible, collaborative mindset and commitment to high standards

A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use (or suitable travel arrangements) is required, as the role involves visiting employer workplaces across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.
