Part-Time Learning Support Mentor – Science, Engineering and Computing (Part-time)

Role: Part-Time Learning Support Mentor – Science, Engineering and Computing
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £7,986 per year (Term time only, Permanent, Part-time)

We are supporting a FE College in Cambridge who are looking for a Learning Support Mentor to join their Science, Engineering and Computing team on a part-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing skills, confidence and independence while achieving their educational goals.

The Role - Part-Time Learning Support Mentor

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Help learners meet personal targets and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes
  • Adapt classroom resources and activities to meet different learning needs
  • Build positive, supportive relationships to encourage progress in academic and practical settings
  • Take part in training and ongoing professional development

About You - Part-Time Learning Support Mentor

  • Empathetic, adaptable and able to use your initiative in supporting learners
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage students and staff alike
  • Flexible and positive, with a genuine interest in education and inclusion

Requirements - Part-Time Learning Support Mentor

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade C/4 or above
  • Previous experience working with young people or supporting SEND learners is desirable, but not essential
