Learning Support Mentor – Science, Engineering and Computing - Full-Time - Cambridge

Role: Learning Support Mentor
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £20,065 per annum

We are supporting a FE College who is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join our Science, Engineering and Computing team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in achieving their goals and gaining the confidence to succeed in education and beyond.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support, particularly for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Help learners work towards targets, including those outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Adapt learning resources and activities to suit individual needs
  • Encourage students’ independence, confidence and progress in both academic and practical settings
  • Take part in training and continuous professional development

About You

  • Empathetic, adaptable, and proactive in supporting diverse learners
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Flexible and motivated, with a genuine passion for education

Requirements

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade C/4 or above
  • Experience working with young people or supporting SEND learners is desirable, but not essential
