Are you passionate about empowering others and making a real difference?

As part of our dynamic Engineering, Computing and Science Team, we’re looking for a Learning Support Mentor who is caring, personable, and empathetic, with a natural talent for uplifting and guiding others.

Our team supports learners aged 16 and up, including adult students, across a wide range of subjects. Every day brings something new, and your role will be central to helping students build confidence, independence, and skills for life and work. You’ll also have the chance to contribute to our wider community initiatives.

As a Learning Support Mentor, you’ll:

  • Support students with diverse learning needs and disabilities
  • Help implement reasonable adjustments to ensure full engagement
  • Mentor students to stay focused and motivated
  • Demonstrate tasks and model skills to aid understanding
  • Champion our core values in everything you do

We’re seeking someone who brings warmth, resilience, and a proactive spirit. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold GCSE English and maths at grade C / 4 or equivalent—or be willing to work towards it
  • Be open to relevant training and development
  • Enjoy working across different faculties and supporting students on varied courses
  • Have experience working with individuals with special educational needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Be patient, reliable, and sensitive to others’ needs
  • Thrive both independently and as part of a team
  • Communicate clearly and connect easily with others

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed.

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.

This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

To apply for this opportunity your detailed CV to Clarus Education now to be considered. We will be contacting those shortlisted within 48 hours of an application.

Please see our website page headed ‘About’ and scroll to the bottom to see our ‘Privacy Notice’ for an explanation about how we use information we collect about you.
