The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support children with across the school through interventions as well as covering classes for PPA and absent teachers. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and support staff to deliver high-quality interventions and tailored support for pupils with diverse needs.

         £26,000+ per annum

         Full time, Permanent

         ASAP Start

 

Key Responsibilities:

         Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, both in the classroom and through small-group or one-to-one interventions.

         Plan and deliver learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo.

         Assist in the assessment and monitoring of pupils' progress, maintaining detailed records.

         Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lessons and materials to meet individual needs.

         Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment, supporting pupils' social and emotional development.

         Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

         Support with the development of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and other SEN documentation.

         Provide cover for lessons where required, ensuring continuity in teaching and learning.

 

Requirements:

         HLTA experience in a similar role.

         Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs.

         A strong understanding of differentiation strategies and behaviour management techniques.

         Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

         A commitment to inclusive education and ensuring equal opportunities for all pupils.

         First Aid training (desirable but not essential).
