Are you patient, caring, and eager to support a young learner with special educational needs?

A welcoming primary school in Haringey is looking for a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

In this full-time, long-term role, you will provide personalised support to a child in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 who has a range of needs such as Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, or SEMH challenges. Your role will be key in helping them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

What You’ll Do – 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant

• Deliver 1:1 tailored support aligned to the pupil’s EHCP
• Help the child engage with class activities and curriculum
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Foster communication, social skills, and independence
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists
• Monitor progress and contribute to planning and assessment
• Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging space for learning

Who We’re Looking For – 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
• Knowledge of SEN including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Ability to adapt resources and strategies for individual needs
• Strong commitment to working through the full academic year
• Relevant qualifications and/or strong academic background preferred
