The Role

As a Supply Cover Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for managing classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils continue their learning in a safe and productive environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes and delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining discipline
• Taking registers and completing basic administrative tasks
• Ensuring pupil safety and following school safeguarding procedures
• Reporting back to relevant staff on lesson progress and any issues
• Supporting pupils with their work when needed

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with secondary school age pupils (11-18 years)
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
• Confident, authoritative presence with excellent communication skills
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different schools
• Must be willing to travel up to 1 hour via public transport

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• Degree qualification (any subject) or equivalent experience
• Previous cover supervisor or teaching experience
• Knowledge of secondary school procedures and expectations
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Understanding of safeguarding in educational settings

All North London secondary schools and academies accessible within 1 hour by public transport, including:

• Camden, Islington, Hackney, Haringey
• Barnet, Enfield, Waltham Forest
• And surrounding boroughs
