We are working closely with a High-achieving Secondary school in Lewisham who are looking for bright, enthusiastic graduates to join them as Teaching Assistants in September. This Outstanding school is in the Top 1% for progress, however, they are also praised for the pastoral support that they offer all of their students. The SENCO is looking for people with a genuine interest in SEN & Mental Health who can work closely with students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 to support them both academically and pastorally.

 

You will be supporting students with mild SEN, all of which will have personalised plans in place for you to follow. Your role will involve building a strong rapport with the students supporting them in the classroom as well as in the SEN Learning zone, working with them to improve their academic ability, confidence, communication skills and more.

 

You will be completing out-of-class interventions as well as in-class support alongside a class teacher for KS3 & KS4 students. This is a very rewarding role that will allow you to not only gain hands-on experience with SEN but also the chance to shadow occupational therapists, psychologists and many more professionals. Job Description - Secondary Teaching Assistant - SEN

         Teaching Assistant - SEN

         Working with KS3 - KS5 students

         Full Time - Long Term (Term time only)

         Monday to Friday 8:30- 3:30 pm

         £95 - £120 per day (actual salary)

         September 2025 start (for full academic year)

         Located in Lewisham

         In-class support and out-of-class interventions focussing on students' mental health

         Supporting students of all abilities including those with SEN

         Using creative and imaginative ways to always engage the students

         To support students 1:1 or in small groups

 

Candidate Specification – Secondary Teaching Assistant – SEN:

         Bright graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree

         Strong passion for working with students on their academic and mental health

         Needs Enthusiasm to be able to inspire the children with learning

         Must be confident within your ability and knowledge of both the GCSE & A Level curriculum
