We are working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Camden seeking an outstanding Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team on a temporary basis, with the potential to secure a permanent role from January 2026.
The Role - Primary Assistant Headteacher
As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in driving whole-school improvement and supporting both staff and pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing the school timetable for maximum efficiency
- Mentoring and coaching trainee teachers, supporting their professional growth
- Delivering inspiring assemblies and promoting a positive school culture
- Supporting and modelling best practice in managing challenging behaviour
- Leading on SEND provision, ensuring every child receives the support they need
The Ideal Candidate - Primary Assistant Headteacher
We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience with school timetabling and operational planning
- A proven record of mentoring and coaching teachers, especially trainees and ECTs
- Confidence in leading assemblies and engaging the whole school community
- Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to support colleagues
- In-depth understanding of a range of SEND needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
