Salary: £100+ per day (£19,000+ pro rata)
Hours: School hours (8:30am-5:00pm), Monday-Friday
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Sept 2025-July 2026)

CREATING PATHWAYS TO LEARNING FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST

An outstanding primary school is seeking a dedicated KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide specialised 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism. This student is pre-verbal and requires intimate care support throughout the school day.

THE STUDENT:

A Year 3 child with an Autism diagnosis who requires consistent, knowledgeable support to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. With your expertise, you'll help create a structured, supportive environment where they can reach their potential.

YOU WILL:

• Implement specialised support strategies for a pre-verbal student with Autism
• Provide intimate care with appropriate dignity and sensitivity
• Use alternative communication approaches effectively
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning goals
• Create and maintain a structured, predictable environment
• Document progress and contribute to support plan reviews

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Has demonstrable experience supporting children with similar needs
• Understands the autism spectrum and associated learning approaches
• Shows confidence in providing intimate care appropriately
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and consistent boundaries
• Can build trust with a pre-verbal child through non-verbal communication
