Are you an emotionally intelligent, resilient professional who is passionate about transforming children’s lives?

We are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching & Learning Assistant (TLA) to join a dynamic support team in a highly rewarding and unique primary school environment in Southwark. This is not just a job—it’s a vocation for someone deeply committed to making a difference for children with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

 About the Role:

You'll be working with children aged 5–11 who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our pupils often present with a range of needs including speech and communication challenges, trauma and attachment issues, ADHD, ASD, and ODD. They require time, care, patience—and most of all, someone who sees beyond the behaviours and hears what the child is trying to say.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Help children rediscover a love of learning
  • Support their social and emotional growth
  • Deliver targeted interventions and work closely with teaching staff
  • Be part of a school that truly puts the child at the centre of everything

Who We’re Looking For:

We welcome applications from experienced TLAs or HLTAs who:

  • Bring energy, empathy and commitment to working with vulnerable learners
  • Understand the impact of trauma and are confident using restorative and relational approaches
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong literacy and numeracy
  • Have the resilience to stay calm under pressure, and the humour to bounce back from the unexpected
  • Can work both as part of a team and independently, leading interventions and contributing to a personalised curriculum
