Role: Lecturer in Plumbing

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £28,385 - £41,782 per annum

We are working with a leading Further Education college in the Cambridgeshire area to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Lecturer in Plumbing to join their dynamic Construction department.

This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver Plumbing courses to a diverse range of learners, both in practical workshops and classroom-based theoretical settings. The successful candidate will also support the ongoing development of the curriculum, provide tutorial guidance to students, and undertake essential administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Plumbing programmes.
  • Ensure teaching and assessment meet awarding body standards and support student achievement.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and digital resources.
  • Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
  • Participate in internal moderation, assessment, and verification processes.
  • Provide tutorial support, monitor student progress, and maintain effective communication with learners, parents/guardians, and employers.
  • Maintain strong industry links and engage in ongoing professional development within the Plumbing and Construction sector.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant industry experience in the Plumbing and Construction sector.
  • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all ages and abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting student progress and achievement.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
  • Ability to integrate core skills such as Maths and English into vocational teaching.
