Premises Officer (Caretaker) – Secondary School – Southwark

 Location: Southwark, London
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £110 – £120 per day (Temp to Perm opportunity)
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Premises Officer to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Southwark. This is a temporary-to-permanent position, offering a long-term career path for the right candidate.

Premises Officer - Key Responsibilities

  • Daily site checks and general repairs (plumbing, painting, basic electrics)
  • Opening and locking the school premises each day
  • Monitoring and maintaining health & safety standards, including fire safety checks
  • Supporting visiting contractors and overseeing small works
  • Ensuring school grounds are tidy, functional, and secure
  • Responding to site-related emergencies during the day

 

Premises Officer – Key Attributes

  • Experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (school experience a plus but not required)
  • Good general DIY and repair skills
  • Working knowledge of health & safety, COSHH, and fire safety practices
  • A flexible, proactive approach and ability to work independently
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • DRIVERS LICENSE ESSENTIAL
