Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

 

Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant

Salary: £100 - £120 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm, term time
Start Date: September 2025

 

We are currently seeking an excellent Graduate – ideally with a background in Psychology – to join our Outstanding Mainstream Secondary School in Southwark. We are looking for individuals with a psychology background to start as soon as possible.

 

The successful candidate will work across various educational settings, providing support to students in small group interventions and collaborating with a Speech and Language Therapist to deliver high-quality support. Candidates with prior experience working with young people, or those interested in pursuing a career in teaching, will be highly advantageous. The role will also involve supporting behaviour management and assisting students in their academic progress.

 

Responsibilities of the Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant include:

  • Proactively helping students to achieve their attainment levels
  • Encouraging students to engage with their learning
  • Assisting in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting the teacher with behaviour management, promoting positive behaviour, and aiding in students’ general development

 

Key Skills and Experience required:

  • Recent graduate in Psychology (or related field)
  • Strong academic background
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and resilient
  • Prior experience working with children or young adults is highly desirable
