Experienced School Administrator – Primary School – Camden – ASAP start

Location: Camden, London
Salary: Scale 5 (Points 12-15) £32,985 - £34,532 (pro rata, term time only)
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only – 7:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Contract: Permanent

About the Role

At Clarus Education, we are supporting a Primary School who is seeking a skilled and experienced Experienced School Administrator to join our dynamic team. This is a key role for an individual who thrives in a busy school environment and is ready to take on significant responsibility in supporting the smooth operation of our administrative functions.

You will work closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team, using your expertise to ensure our administrative systems are efficient, compliant, and responsive to the needs of our staff, pupils, and families. Flexibility and initiative are essential, as you will be expected to work across both our EYFS/KS1 and KS2 sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities - Experienced School Administrator

  • Admissions & Transitions: Lead on all administrative aspects of pupil admissions and transitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Attendance: Oversee the recording, monitoring, and reporting of pupil and staff attendance; liaise with parents and staff to support school attendance targets.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update school databases; complete statutory returns (DfE census, local authority reports); manage data uploads and retrievals.
  • Finance Administration: Manage the collection and recording of payments for school dinners, clubs, and trips; monitor outstanding balances and follow up as necessary.
  • Procurement & Inventory: Oversee ordering and inventory of school supplies and uniforms; coordinate deliveries and stock distribution.
  • General Office Management: Provide comprehensive administrative support including diary management, school trip coordination, website updates, hospitality arrangements, and acting as the first point of contact for visitors.
  • IT & Security: Support the implementation of IT and data security procedures; ensure all equipment is maintained and secure.
  • Safeguarding: Uphold and promote the welfare of pupils and fundamental British Values in all aspects of your work.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience: Experienced School Administrator

  • Substantial experience working in a school office environment
  • Proven track record managing school databases, admissions, and attendance
  • Experience providing high-quality administrative support to a range of stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance in an education setting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work independently

Desirable: Experienced School Administrator

  • Experience with school finance systems and dinner money packages
  • Previous responsibility for managing school admissions processes

Skills & Qualifications: Experienced School Administrator

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Confident user of IT systems (e.g. MS Office, school management software)
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and present data effectively
  • GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths (or equivalent)
