The Role:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Geography lessons
  • Encouraging curiosity and critical thinking in young learners
  • Supporting GCSE and A-Level students in achieving academic success

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Good honours degree in Geography or a closely related discipline (e.g., environmental science/geology with strong geography A-level)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (e.g., subject-specific courses, leadership training)

Experience

  • Proven success teaching Geography at KS3-KS5, including GCSE/A-Level
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with ability to inspire students
  • Data literacy: Experience using assessment data to improve outcomes
  • Curriculum development: Familiarity with current national requirements (e.g., AQA/OCR specifications)


Subject Knowledge

  • Specialist expertise in both physical (e.g., water/carbon cycles) and human geography
  • Fieldwork competence: Ability to lead investigative learning
  • Technological proficiency with GIS and digital teaching tools
