Teacher Training Team Supervisor– Part Time (4 days) – FE College – Permanent – ASAP start!

Role: Teacher Training Team Supervisor

Contract: Permanent, Part Time (28.8 hours per week) - must include Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus one evening teaching session

Location: Uxbridge

Actual Salary: £37,234-£40,517

About the Role

As a Teacher Training Team Supervisor, you will lead the development and delivery of teacher training programs, ensuring high standards of recruitment, retention, and achievement among staff and students. This role includes managing the curriculum, staffing arrangements, and supporting colleagues in innovative teaching practices. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching methodologies and assist in maintaining and updating the Teaching and Learning Website.

Key Responsibilities – Teacher Training Team Supervisor

Student Recruitment and Marketing

  • Identify demand and develop the curriculum accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to organize recruitment activities.
  • Ensure staff participation in promotional events to positively represent the College.
  • Support unqualified College teachers in enrolling in relevant training programs.

Student Support and Development

  • Implement the College’s Tutorial Policy and Essential Skills Strategy.
  • Ensure up-to-date learning resources are accessible to staff and students.
  • Work closely with Student and Learning Support teams to enhance student services.
  • Oversee mentoring support for teacher training staff at Uxbridge and Harrow Colleges.
  • Develop and promote innovative teaching methodologies.

Curriculum Management and Delivery

  • Oversee the delivery and quality of teacher training and relevant qualifications.
  • Develop course materials, including handbooks, schemes of work, and assessment schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with College policies and maximize IT integration in teaching.
  • Teach approximately 13.5 hours per week within the contracted hours.

Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation

  • Implement the College’s Quality Policy and target-setting procedures.
  • Oversee moderation and verification of assessments.
  • Analyse performance data and drive improvements in teaching and learning practices.

Leadership and Management

  • Coordinate staff and course timetables, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Assist in managing staff, including induction, training, and development.
  • Conduct appraisals, teaching observations, and professional development activities.
  • Support marketing, business development, and external partnerships.

Safeguarding and Compliance

  • Ensure safeguarding best practices are embedded in all aspects of work.
  • Promote and uphold the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Person Specification - Teacher Training Team Supervisor

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree or relevant professional qualification.
  • A recognized advanced teaching qualification (PGCE, DET, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of three years of successful post-qualification teaching experience.
  • At least two years’ experience in curriculum management.
  • Experience in teacher training or staff development.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Assessor (A1/2) and Verifier (V1) qualifications.
  • Experience as an Advanced Teaching Practitioner.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pedagogy and the Ofsted ITE & EIF frameworks.
  • Excellent classroom teaching, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and IT skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learner success.
  • Availability to work on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with one evening per week.
