Location: Uxbridge (with work across college sites as needed)
Hours: 28.8 per week (must include Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus one evening teaching session)
Grade: Section Manager pt. 37 – 40 (£37,234-£40,517 per annum)
Reporting to: Assistant Director – Academic Standards

Role Overview

The Section Manager for Teacher Training will lead and manage teacher training programs, ensuring student recruitment, retention, and achievement. The role includes curriculum development, quality assurance, and supporting innovative teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment and enrolment of teacher training students.
• Manage curriculum delivery, including developing course materials and assessment schedules.
• Ensure quality standards align with Ofsted ITE & EIF frameworks.
• Provide mentoring and support to teacher training staff.
• Deliver approximately 13.5 hours of teaching per week.
• Implement and enhance digital learning tools and resources.
• Supervise staff, conduct appraisals, and support professional development.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding and college policies.

Essential Requirements

• A relevant degree and advanced teaching qualification (PGCE, DET, or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification teaching experience.
• Experience in curriculum management and staff development.
• Strong knowledge of pedagogy and Ofsted frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
