Psychology Graduate TA – Primary, Secondary, or SEN School – Full-Time, Long-Term Position

We are currently seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) to work on a full-time, long-term basis across either Primary, Secondary, or SEN schools. This is a fantastic chance to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment, supporting students who need additional guidance in their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Psychology Graduate TA, your role will involve:
- Supporting individual students and small groups, assisting them with their learning needs, either in the classroom or outside in one-on-one sessions.
- Behavioural support: You will help implement strategies to manage and support students with behavioural challenges, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
- Emotional and social development: Supporting students with emotional needs, using your understanding of psychology to build rapport and encourage positive relationships.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to implement learning interventions and track student progress.
- Assisting in classroom management: Helping teachers with day-to-day classroom duties, ensuring a productive and inclusive learning environment.
- Special Educational Needs: If you’re working in an SEN school, you may support students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a Psychology graduate who:
- Has a genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their educational and emotional development.
- Is enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient when working with students, particularly those who need additional support.
- Has a foundational understanding of psychological principles and how to apply them in real-life settings.
- May have experience (either professionally or personally) of working with children or individuals with special educational needs, though this is not essential.
- Is eager to learn and grow within the education field, with long-term career aspirations in education, psychology, or therapy.
Position Details:
- Position: Psychology Graduate TA
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (6-8 hours per day)
- Location: Primary, Secondary, or SEN schools in your area
- Salary: £14 per hour via PAYE for the first 12 weeks (above the updated National Minimum Wage). After 12 consecutive weeks, your pay will increase to align with the full-time salary equivalent of £23,355 per annum (actual salary).
- Contract: Full-time, long-term
