Salary: £85 - £100 per day

SEN / SEMH Support Staff  - Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN / SEMH Support Staff, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN TA to join a mainstream primary school in Sutton. The ideal candidate will support the education and development of children across Early Years to KS2, working closely with the class teacher and other staff members. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact by supporting students in a variety of ways to enhance their learning and development.

SEN / SEMH Support Staff - Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children, promoting their growth and well-being
  • Foster a safe, inclusive environment, ensuring all children feel supported and valued
  • Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to enhance the learning experience
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures
  • Help with the preparation of learning materials and assist with classroom organization

 

SEN / SEMH Support Staff - Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Drama, Dance, Psychology, English, Sports Science, or equivalent), a degree would be ideal
  • Previous experience working in schools, after-school clubs, or youth clubs is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with children
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
