SEN Food Technology Teacher – Secondary PRU – Enfield – April 2025

Role: SEN Food Technology Teacher (with QTS)

Location: Enfield, North London

Contract: Fixed-Term (April 2025 – July 2025), with the potential for extension or permanent role from September 2025

Pay: £185+ per day – Depending on Experience

The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and committed SEN Food Technology Teacher to join our team from April 2025 until July 2025, with the possibility of extending into a permanent contract from September 2025. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage our students in a subject that sees high levels of interest and enthusiasm. The role will involve delivering a dynamic and practical curriculum in Food Technology, ensuring that students not only develop their skills but also gain confidence in their abilities.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist provision where you will have the support of a Teaching Assistant in the classroom. Food Technology is one of the only subjects in our PRU to have dedicated TA support, and you will benefit from this alongside your students' high levels of engagement with the subject.

About the PRU:

The secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is based in Enfield which provides a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment for around 60 students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. They work with young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education and are committed to providing them with the support, guidance, and resources they need to succeed. Our small class sizes and specialist provisions allow us to tailor our approach to meet the individual needs of our students, creating a safe space for learning and growth.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • A genuine passion for teaching Food Technology and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people
  • Previous experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and/or KS4 (although not essential, is desirable)
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and resilient, with a commitment to working within a specialist provision for students with additional needs
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse learning styles
  • A team player who is keen to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
