Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, qualified, and engaging role model who will play a significant role in the development of our young people, department and wider school community.  Our Merton Secondary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share the commitment.

The successful candidate will have outstanding subject knowledge and be a true advocate for Physical Education. Physical Education, physical activity and school sport is at the heart of our Merton Secondary School and we would welcome applications for this exciting opportunity from practitioners who can demonstrate dedication to the subject. Ideally the candidate would be a Basketball Specialist who would have the vision and expertise to enhance our national successes and reputation.

Teacher of PE requirements:

  • Hold UK QTS status
  • Have a vision and passion for PE, physical activity and school sport which they can articulate
  • Be a highly competent qualified teacher, demonstrating excellent subject knowledge
  • Be a reflective practitioner with a focus on continuous learning and development of practice
  • Contribute and show dedicated commitment to extra-curricular activities, including Basketball and Football
  • Have the desire to be an advocate of Physical Education and play an active role in the wider school community
