SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – Lewisham
A vibrant, diverse, inclusive and thriving Primary school located in the borough of Lewisham are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant.
The school aims to celebrate and nurture all children, as well as providing quality first teaching to enable children to become lifelong learners. Through an inclusive and diverse curriculum, children develop their social, spiritual, physical and emotional skills, and through the monthly core values, the children are supported to think in a way that builds resilience and confidence through self-reflection and ownership of learning.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a child on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will be using strategies to support and develop the child’s academic, social and emotional progress, both in and out of the classroom.

SEN Teaching Assistant – What the role involves
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Working 1:1 with a child with SEN
- Providing 1:1 and group support – in and out of the classroom
- Working alongside a range of professionals and SENCO
- Full time and long term contract – until at least July 2025
- £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
SEN Teaching Assistant – What we are looking for
- Impressive academic background – good degree, A levels & GCSEs
- Previous SEN experience, on either a working or personal level, would be desirable
- Good knowledge of a range of learning barriers including special needs
- Calm and compassionate nature
- Ability to demonstrate patience and sensitivity
- A positive, willing and adaptable member of the team
