The role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Gap Assistant who has the skills and experience to support our students to learn and progress. You will join a talented, close-knit team at our Preparatory School in Central London, assisting and supporting our teachers to deliver outstanding lessons to our pupils. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of education while contributing to the academic and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers with lesson delivery and assessment.
  • Provide in class one-on-one or small group support to students who may require additional help.
  • Supervise students during class activities, breaks, and extracurricular events.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as organizing classroom materials and preparing educational resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging and effective teaching strategies.
  • Depending on experience, help with the delivery of PE, games and swimming lessons

 

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • A genuine passion for education and working with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
  • A minimum Grade 5 Maths and English scores at GCSE or equivalent
