Job Overview
We are looking for a well-qualified graduate (2.1 or above), to play a key role teaching Economics to Years 12 and 13.
The successful candidate will inspire enthusiasm in their pupils as well as help to maintain Westminster’s very high academic standards through excellent subject knowledge.
They will deliver engaging, creative and effective lessons across both year groups with appropriate differentiation across the ability range.
The ideal applicant will have a willingness to work as part of a team and work collaboratively to create resources, review different methods of assessment and new developments in pedagogy, and seek to constantly improve our delivery and the experience to our pupils.
In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the additional subject related activities the department organises such as the Economics Society Committee, competitions, support classes etc. In addition to their academic teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.
Experience in teaching is a positive attribute, but the successful candidate might not have taught before and we welcome candidates who are new to teaching.
We have previously employed both qualified and unqualified teachers, and there is a great deal of support within the department for people looking to begin a career in teaching.
The applicant will be highly organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines. A commitment to ongoing professional development, which is actively encouraged and supported by the school, is essential.
