Year 2 Class Teacher – Islington Primary School – June – July 2025

  • KS2 (Year 2) Class Teacher
  • Full-time, Short Term
  • From June 2025 – July 2025 (Summer 2) – after May half term
  • £200+ per day, depending on experience

At Clarus Education, we are working with a Primary School based in Islington who are looking for a Qualified Primary Teacher, who can teach in a Year 2 Class from after May half term up until the end of the academic year, to cover a maternity leave position.

Qualifications

  • DfE Qualified Teacher status
  • Evidence of commitment to further professional development

Experience

 The Year 2 Class Teacher should have experience of:

  • Teaching or having placements in at least one area: Foundation Stage, Key Stage One or Key Stage Two

Knowledge and understanding

The Class Teacher should have knowledge and understanding of:

  • The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation, learning strategies and intervention support)
  • Statutory requirements at the appropriate phase or key stage
  • The monitoring, assessment (formative and summative), recording and reporting of pupils’ progress
  • The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection
  • The positive links necessary within school and with all its stakeholders
  • Effective teaching and learning styles
  • In addition, the Class Teacher might also have knowledge and understanding of: the preparation and administration of statutory assessment requirements

Skills

The Year 2 Class Teacher will be able to:

  • Promote the school’s aims positively, and use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale
  • Develop good personal relationships within a team contributing to wider school life
  • Establish and develop effective relationships with parents, governors
  • In addition, the Class Teacher might also be able to: develop strategies for creating community links. the community; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences; and create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment with excellent behaviour management
