History Teacher / ECT Secondary School - September 2025 – Islington 

A modern Secondary School in the Inner London Borough of Islington are looking to appoint a driven, motivated, and passionate History Teacher / ECT. The Head of Department is welcoming History Teachers/ECTs to apply for a September 2025 start.

The school are looking for an individual who is committed to creating and securing high standards of learning as well as having a positive impact on the academic results throughout the department. The SLT have a fantastic ECT induction scheme that will supply you with the training and guidance needed to give you the expertise and skills to become a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ practitioner.

  • Teaching Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
  • Fantastic ECT induction – 1:1 mentor
  • Full time and permanent position
  • September 2025 start
  • Inner London pay scale 
  • MPS1-6 £38,766-£50,288 per annum
  • Located in the Borough of Islington

PERSON SPECIFICATION – History Teacher/ECT

  • MUST hold UK QTS
  • Strong academic background in GCSEs, A Levels and Degree
  • Excellent curriculum knowledge
  • Ambitious and driven personality
  • Must be able to create engaging and challenging lessons
  • Must be able to work within a team
  • Previous ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ lesson observations
  • Strong understanding of the teaching standards
