Lecturer - Foundation Studies – Uxbridge – Permanent Contract

Location:           Uxbridge

Salary:                £32,455 to £45,260 per annum including London Weighting

Post Type:         Full Time

Foundation Studies is a well-established area of the College.  They are enthusiastic and committed to the progression of full-time learners, who require support to help them achieve.  They may have a learning difficulty or disability or need help with their behaviour.  

At Clarus Education, we are working with a college in West London who are seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer to plan and deliver across a range of courses within Foundation Studies, particularly focusing on the Access to FE programmes, taking an active role in developing learners’ skills for independence and preparing them for employment or further study.    You will also be involved in the development of the programmes within the area.  

You will need to:

  • Possess a degree in a relevant subject area (or minimum Level 3 qualification with substantial teaching experience in Foundation)
  • Have experience of teaching within the Foundation Learning area including Functional Skills, together with up-to-date knowledge of good practice in this area
  • Either possess or be willing to obtain a Level 5 teaching qualification suitable for the FE sector, supported by the College

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in the relevant subject area (or minimum of Level 3 in a relevant area plus minimum of 2 years' successful experience teaching in Foundation)
  • Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, or willingness and ability to work towards one, supported by the College**

Knowledge and Experience

  • Teaching experience in Foundation Learning
  • Experience of teaching learners with LDD and/or challenging behaviour
  • Experience of teaching Functional Skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of good practice in Foundation Learning
