We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Receptionist/Administrator to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for all visitors and callers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our vibrant and inclusive school community. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the signing-in and security procedures for all visitors, ensuring they are aware of our safeguarding and fire evacuation protocols.
  • Provide first-line support to pupils, parents, staff, and other visitors, answering telephone enquiries and directing them to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain the central stationery store, distribute stock, and ensure appropriate stock levels and orderly storage.
  • Receive and distribute post, prepare parent and carer correspondence, and provide general administrative support.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and assist with the administration, organisation, and communication of school educational visits.
  • Process cash payments from parents and carers, issue receipts, and support the administration of Free School Meal and Pupil Premium applications.
  • Manage the administration and reporting of school dinner numbers, as well as the ordering of milk and fruit for pupils.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Previous experience in a similar receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Qualities: 

  • Friendly and approachable personality, with a genuine interest in supporting the school community.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond positively to the ever-changing demands of the school environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in using MIS systems (the school uses currently uses SIMS)
