At our Kingston Primary School, we are seeking a caring and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant, who specialises in supporting children with anxiety, social and emotional difficulties, to join their staffing team this September.

This long-term, full-time role begins ASAP and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who need it most within a Primary School setting.

Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant - Details

  • Purposeful Role: Help children with social and emotional difficulties navigate their challenges and build the confidence they need to succeed
  • Consistent Schedule: Work Monday to Friday during term time, providing stable and continuous support throughout the academic year

Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with social and emotional difficulties, helping them engage with learning and build positive relationships
  • Work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support the personal and academic growth of students, fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth

Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant - Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have a 2:1 or above in an Undergraduate degree, and/or have 2+ years’ experience working with children in an educational setting
  • A strong passion for helping children overcome social and emotional challenges
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Have an understanding around anxiety and depression
  • Sound knowledge around safeguarding
