Teacher of Art – Job specification

• Inner London Pay Scale MPS - UPS
• Teach Art to pupil in KS3 and KS4, ability to teach KS5 desirable
• To plan and prepare lessons appropriate to the different abilities of students, including students with special educational needs
• To be a tutor or attached tutor to a particular year group
• To follow and contribute to the department scheme of work
• To prepare coursework for moderation purposes, where appropriate

Teacher of Art – Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (obtained in the UK)
• Evidence of a balanced programme of training relating to the specialist subject
• Evidence of a good understanding of the National Curriculum in the subject specialism in Key Stages 3 and 4
• Understanding of relevant research and best practice relating to the teaching and learning of Design & Technology, particularly the strategies which deliver most impact in the classroom
• Record of success as a classroom teacher or in the case of an ECT, in teaching practice
• Evidence of a commitment to play a full and active part in the life of the school
• Ability to relate well to children and to adults
• Has a friendly yet professional and respectful approach
