ASD Teaching Assistant – Secondary School– Southwark

We are seeking a patient and committed ASD Teaching Assistant to join our Secondary School in Southwark. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children on the autism spectrum. The position involves delivering one-on-one support to two KS3 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN).

Role: ASD Teaching Assistant

Location: Southwark

Contract: Long term

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

Start date: ASAP or January 2025

ASD Teaching Assistant- About the role:

  • Providing tailored one-on-one support to pupils with ASD and SLCN
  • Assisting children with non-verbal communication needs
  • Supporting the KS3 curriculum and managing challenging behaviour
  • Collaborating effectively with the school's SEND team to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Previous experience in supporting children with ASD and communication needs.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or a degree in a related field
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing a positive and nurturing environment
  • Excellent transport links and on-site parking available
  • Well-resourced SEND provision as part of a Multi Academy Trust
