Mental Health Teaching Assistant – Islington Primary School – ASAP 2024 

In the vibrant North London borough of Islington, the Head Teacher of an ‘Outstanding’ primary school is searching for a qualified Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support a range of pupils across KS1 & KS2 this year. This is a full time and long-term Teaching Assistant role for the rest of the academic year (ASAP – July 2025). 

 

What is involved with your Mental Health Teaching Assistant role? 

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis with an EHCP 
  • Planning & delivering social interventions  
  • Targeted support for vulnerable pupils who struggle with their mental health and/ or have SEN e.g. SEMH, Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, complex attachment needs 
  • Help your target pupils to identify & regulate their emotions  
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Speech & Language Therapist 
  • Receive £85 - £100 per day
