SEN Teacher – SEN School– January 2025 Start

We are seeking a SEN Teacher to join our welcoming and dedicated team at our Special school in Croydon, working with our pupils with Autism across the school.

Our all through special school provides inclusive education for children and young people aged 2-16 with a range of learning and complex needs, including physical disabilities and medical needs. We cater to a wide range of abilities and also support students aged 16-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

It is essential for us, that the successful candidate is passionate about making a difference to the lives of our students and that they are reliable and committed to the role.

  • MPS 1 £36,413 – MPS 6 £48,532 + SEN allowance

Key Responsibilities – SEN Teacher:

  • SEN Teacher
  • Support children with Autism, complex medical needs, physical disabilities and profound and multiple learning difficulties
  • Deliver a curriculum tailored to the specific needs of our students
  • Collaborate with a team of skilled teaching assistants, to ensure each child receives the support they require
  • Assist students with personal care needs, showing a willingness to provide necessary support
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging the social and emotional development of each child

Requirements – SEN Teacher:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives
  • Passionate, reliable and committed
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team
  • Familiarity with Makaton and previous experience of PECS would be advantageous
  • A willingness to assist with personal care requirements

The successful SEN Teacher will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
