SEN Maths Teacher – SEN School – ASAP Start
Our special school, located in Croydon, is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join our team.
Our specialist, all through SEN school, is situated across three sites. All our pupils have Educational Health Care Plans for Social, Emotional and / or Mental Health needs (SEMH) and have difficulties with challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, severe social anxieties and speech, language and communication difficulties.
Therefore, we are seeking a passionate, resilient and committed SEN Maths Teacher, ideally with previous experience of working with individuals with SEMH needs, who is aware of the challenges and rewards of working in this kind of specialist environment.

Supporting children with SEMH needs
Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment
Collaborate with other staff members as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Maintain and utilize short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver the curriculum
Set, monitor, and review personalized targets to optimize individual learning
Monitor, assess, review, and report on student progress and work to parents, team members, senior staff, examination bodies, and funding bodies
Stay updated through training and research, taking responsibility for professional development
Develop lesson plans, analyse outcomes, and engage in self-reflection

Person Specification – SEN Maths Teacher
SEN Maths Teacher
Must have QTS
Suitable for experienced mainstream or SEND teachers
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification, with evidence of in-service training
Relevant knowledge and experience working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles
Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Experience in managing a range of behaviour approaches, including behaviours that challenge
Flexible to travel to different sites occasionally
