Salary: £36,745 - £56,959 per year + SEN1 + Excellent Benefits

Our Specialist Primary School, located in Merton, is seeking a SEN Teacher to join our team as soon as possible. As an SEN Teacher, you'll work with children and young people with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop, and raise their self-esteem.

SEN Teacher - Key Responsibilities:

Teach and support students with ASD/SEMH needs, helping them achieve their potential.

Collaborate with in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals.

Develop and implement creative, bespoke lesson plans tailored to individual needs.

Manage and understand challenging behaviour, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.

Communicate effectively with non-verbal pupils using tools like Makaton, PECs, and PODD.

 

SEN Teacher – Our Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with autistic pupils and those with challenging behaviour.

Ability to communicate in various ways, especially with non-verbal students.

Familiarity with autism strategies such as TEACCH and Attention Autism.

Flexible to teach pupils aged 4-11, with a creative approach to lesson delivery.

Resilient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference.

The successful SEN Teacher will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
