Behaviour Mentor – SEN School – ASAP Start

About the Role:

  • Full-time, long-term position - £95-£110 per day (term time only position)
  • Behaviour Mentor to secondary school students with behavioural, emotional and/or mental health challenges (SEMH)
  • Students can also have issues around self-esteem, low confidence, interpersonal skills, and poor emotional regulation
  • Ideal role for a diplomatic, calm, patient ‘role model’ Teaching Assistant who, ideally, has previously worked in challenging situations
  • Patient, personable, highly dependable, able to work in confidence, professional outlook
  • PRU for students with SEMH needs, located in Merton

 

While previous experience is preferred, it is by no means essential. We value qualities such as empathy, a firm but fair approach and the ability to provide calm and measured support in challenging circumstances. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic team of trained professionals, including class teachers and other Behaviour Mentors. Together, you will work towards providing crucial support and guidance to students facing difficulties related to their individual Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs while supporting them to catch up on missed learning and achieve their academic targets.

Whether you aspire to become, or you are a former a Social/Youth Worker, Educational Psychologist, or SEN Teacher, this role will offer you the platform to utilise your existing skills and life experiences to positively influence the outlook and life path of young people who could really use a guiding light in their lives.
