Our special needs secondary school in West London is renowned for providing exceptional education and support to students with a range of needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can reach their full potential and we are seeking like-minded Teaching Assistants to join our team.

Role – Teaching Assistant:

  • You will play a crucial role in supporting students with special needs in their educational journey.
  • Your commitment and passion for working with SEN students will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • You will work closely with the class teacher, providing one-on-one support and contributing to the students' overall progress.

 

Responsibilities – Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other complex needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students as needed, offering assistance with academic tasks and personal development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher in preparing resources and materials tailored to students' individual needs.
  • Assist in behaviour management strategies, maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP), assessments, and reports.
  • Attend EHCP reviews and meetings with parents/guardians to provide valuable insights and feedback.
  • Receive training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in working with SEN students.

 

 

Requirements – Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A genuine commitment and passion for working with SEN students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the class teacher and other professionals.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in training programs to enhance your skills in supporting SEN students.
