Mental Health Teaching Assistant – Year 1 Class - Enfield  – ASAP Start! 

A fantastic school in the London borough of Enfield are looking for an exceptional SEN / Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team to support students in their Year 1 class. 

 The successful candidate will provide support for all areas of learning to pupils with severe and complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, including autism and severe learning difficulties. You will take part in all aspects of teaching and learning with a focus on Social, Emotional and mental Health.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Mental Health Teaching Assistant  

Your role as a Menal Health Teaching Assistant will include but not be limited to: 

  • Mental Health Teaching Assistant 
  • Combination of 1:1, small group and general classroom support  
  • Collaborating with Teachers, SENCO and therapists   
  • Some personal care required 
  • Full-time, Monday –Friday  
  • 08:30– 16:30 
  • Long term position – temporary to permanent 
  • Up to £100 a day for the right candidate  
  • Supporting in and out of the classroom providing extra support 
  • Located in the Borough of Enfield  

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mental Health Teaching Assistant 

The ideal candidate for this Mental Health Teaching Assistant will have the following:  

  • Strong academic background  
  • Experience is ESSENTIAL! 
  • Team Teach qualification is advantageous but not a necessity 
  • Personable, calm, and patient 
  • Ability to commit to the entire academic year, term time only. 
  • Experience with ASD, SEN, SEMH and complex trauma all beneficial
