Location: Croydon

Contract Type: Long Term – 1 Year

Contract Hours: Full Time, 8.30am – 4.30pm

Salary: £95 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.

Our school caters to pupils with complex medical needs, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties, ranging from Early Years to Post-16 and many of our pupils require 1-1 support.

Job Description –SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant

Support classroom learning and therapy programs.

Provide medical and personal care.

Support pupils with local and national learning strategies (e.g., literacy, numeracy, ICT).

Maintain and prepare classroom equipment/resources.

Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.

Participate in students’ behaviour programmes, including risk assessment processes.

Attend to pupils’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.

Assist with supervision of pupils out of lesson times and during school activities.

 

Person Specification – SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant

Successful experience as a teaching assistant across several age groups.

Evidence of relevant professional experiences.

Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well with children and adults.

Commitment to development and training opportunities.

Excellent classroom practice and a resilient approach.

Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.

Good IT skills, including experience with safeguarding monitoring software and information management systems.
